Temperatures hit Southern California |
| Kendall
Farms survived the recent freezing
temperatures that caused such damage
to growers in California. We're
in pretty good shape compared to
many other growers not only in our
area, but to growers north of San
Diego County as well. Damage to
crops were minimal, however, the
freeze has slowed down production
of some crops, which may delay some
products for Valentine's Day
shipping. |

Kendall
Farms monitors many of our
shipments with temperature
recorders, which provide
a record of any extreme
temperature readings, especially
important during the cold,
winter months. We continue
to place a major emphasis
on quality and to ensure
our products arrive in the
best condition possible.
In addition, many growers
are not able to invest in
proper cooling systems,
however, Kendall Farms spends
a considerable amount in
improvements and maintenance
of our coolers while still
offering competitive prices
to our customers. |

Kendall
Farms has a variety of flowers
and foliage available for Valentine's
Day |
| Berzelia,
a very long lasting
flowering foliage
and native to South
Africa and Australia,
grows on our farm
blooming only a few
weeks out of the year.
Rice Flower, also
native to Australia
has many tiny white
and pink flower heads
in dense clusters
at the stem ends,
is available throughout
Spring. Sterling Range,
similar to Wax Flower
in some respects,
is more compact in
flower clusters, whereas
wax flower clusters
are more open. |

and smaller size
wax flower blooms
all coming in March
thru Mother's
Day, along with
Pincushion Protea
available in April
through Mother's
Day. |

cut off times may
be earlier than
many of our competitors,
but it is only because
our 550-acre farm
is located farther
from the major trucking
and transportation
companies. However,
buying from Kendall
Farms means you
are buying direct
from a grower and
your product will
be the freshest
possible. |

Kendall Farms family, Ed and Kami
Castillo. They each bring over 20
years of floral industry experience
to expand and develop our floral
program within the mass and specialty
markets. This year we will celebrate
Kendall Farms 20th Anniversary as
a premier grower in California.
We are looking to the future with
the expansion of the farm and an
innovative team with Ed as Director
of Sales & Marketing and Kami
assuming the position of Marketing
and Design. |
